OUR MANTRA
JUST ONE MORE™ stems from the beautiful, mission-driven words of our late friend and WTO staff member, Carole Kiley. Carole called WTO when we were only a few months old, wanting to help our Veterans and their families navigate the VA system.
Carole was in the last class of the Women’s Army Corp, joining the Army at 17 years old. She had worked in the VA systems in Tulsa, OK and Las Vegas, NV. She was the type of person who knew the laws and regulations so well that we always joked she could recite them in her sleep.
Carole spoke with every single WTO Veteran who needed her help and made a tremendous impact on their lives. She helped one Veteran obtain a 100 percent disability rating within a week of his retirement. She helped another Veteran receive $30,000 in backpay for a benefit the Veteran was not aware she had earned. On one occasion, Carole walked into the Helena VA and demanded they “push the damn button” and process survivor benefits for a Gold Star spouse.
Carole was a self-proclaimed “bulldog with lipstick”. She deeply loved her dogs, her trucks, her WTO family, and Veterans anywhere and their families.
At the end of each conversation, Carole would say to the team, “If I can help just one more Veteran, that is my goal. Just one more.”
JUST ONE MORE™ quickly became part of the WTO mission and culture. We are honored to carry on Carole’s legacy and hope you’ll join us in doing the same.

Support WTO’s People Project Fund
WTO is partnered with The People Project, a nonprofit that stepped up to seed fund aspects of our family advocacy program, specifically the human moments we share with Veterans and their families. When The People Project asked us why our Veterans are thriving and are more willing to engage in relationships, counseling, and more, we explained that our family advocacy is key to laying a foundation with each person. That human connection leads to them trusting and leaning into other support, like therapy, through Warrior Transition Outdoors.
"Let us fund those human moments," they responded. And The People Project Fund was born. If you want to help fund human moments between our Family Advocates and the families they serve, you can donate directly to this fund. This will support our advocates' ability to go for coffee, take people out for dinners or other experiences, help cover a service to take care of a family, and more.
